BBC - Weather Centre - Forecast for Berwick Upon Tweed, United Kingdom

Welcome to Berwick Amateur Rowing Club

The River Tweed at Berwick is suitable for rowing, when weather and tide conditions are permitting, from the estuary up to a small village called Horncliffe which is about 10,000 metres upstream.  With the right conditions it is a beautiful river to row with various local land marks along the way.

West Ord is approximately 5,000 metres from the Royal Tweed Bridge at Berwick and is the starting point for our long distance races and in the past few years we have held our annual regatta here.  Further up river you come across Union Chain Bridge, a suspension bridge which marks the border between England and Scotland.  This is the last tidal part of the river upstream from Berwick.
